She speaks with the flowers, and sings with the birds,
Everyone think it's sweet, for such a young little girl.
But I know the depths of her heart, and how dark it can be,
When the madness that crawls, is like a drowning sea.
Her smiles are like a mirror, but I see through the looking glass,
Though she wishes it so hard, the pain might never pass.
Her dreamed world is broken; the pieces are on the floor,
And all her innocent thoughts are stuck in the little door.
No biscuit and no bottle can make her shrink or grow,
No matter where she looks, there is no rabbit to follow.
Alice, your world hasn't changed, but your heart isn't the same,
The red queen is still here, yet you can't recall your name.
Even the Cheshire cat's grins can make you crack a smile,
Poor Alice's innocence has been gone for quite a while.
You were so young, but now you've seen the world,
All your sweet illusions are crushed, broken, swirled.
You've seen all the lies, the pain, the hate,
All those people forced to meet their fate.
You now know there is no such thing as perfection,
And life is nothing but a despicable infection.
People smile only to hide their sin,
But can't see their crime is craved deeply in their skin.
You surely know there's no point to wait for the afterglow,
The more you linger, the more the pills get harder to swallow.
Now that you're sick and tired of the lies you've been fed,
Face the truth, Alice: Your Wonderland is dead.
I didn't inspire myself from it, but it's true than any dark version of alice in Wonderland will always remind people of the game ^^
the game actually earned to be called the true Alice, this movie with Depp just doesn't fit into it. McGee made it more... sophisticated.
I think the movie was supposed to take place AFTER the disney version, something like than, but i think it doesn't fit.
McGee is a genius ! About as much as Lewis Carroll his-self.
